Cheikh, founder of The Beneficial Knowledge Group

His story

Two decades of making
systems work.

Cheikh is a Senegalese-American based in Massachusetts. He has more than 20 years of experience leading public health programs, research administration, HIV/AIDS responses and economic recovery programs in over 15 countries, often in environments where funding is complex, stakes are high and there is no room for work that only looks good on paper.

He has held leadership roles at Tufts Medical Center, UMass Chan Medical School, Harvard University, and Mercy Corps in Niger, along with managerial positions at John Snow, Inc. (JSI), the International Labour Organization, and Mercy Corps headquarters.

Across each of these organizations, he has contributed to public health strategy, workforce training, systems design and implementation, operations setup, organizational assessment and strengthening, and international program startup and closeout.

And everywhere, he met the same question.

How can we build systems and make people actually deliver under real-world pressure, without constant oversight from the top?

That question shaped everything about The Beneficial Knowledge Group.
